Today's question is a tough one:
What was your favorite book read this year?
I really lucked into some great reads this year so it's hard to narrow down. I've binged a couple of fun UF series like The Beginners Guide to Necromancy by Hailey Edwards and The City Between by W. R. Gingell. I've read some great fantasy like Ash Kickers by Sean Grigsby, Fortuna Sworn by K.J. Sutton and For King and Country by Karen Gray. I've been all over the place this year!

This is super hard to answer as I’ve read several amazing books this year. I binge read the whole Me Before You series by JoJo Moyes this summer and loved all three books. I was also lucky enough to get an ARC of The Perfect Wife by JP Delaney this year which was an awesome read.

Oh this is always a tough question to answer! As far as library checkouts go, I would definitely say Pride by Ibi Zoboi is right up there at the top, as it is a modern-day adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice that absolutely hits all the same social institutions and standards and practices in and against non-Caucasian communities that Austen herself subtly protested in regards to women and social “hierarchies” in her day. Brilliant and absolutely not missing a beat!
As for ebooks… I read a whole lot of delightful “newcomers” this year (books from authors I hadn’t read before) as well as continuing or finishing series that I absolutely love, so that makes it hard! On the one hand, I have You Left Me No Choice by Kelly Blanchard, the fifth book in the Chronicles of Lorrek series, which was absolutely breathtaking all the way through! Seriously, if you have a “strange” sort of craving with a rich and well-mapped fantasy world… but also cyberpunk tech… but also dragons… and a brilliant magic system… READ THIS SERIES!!! But I also read Angel Tormented by C. L. Coffey, which is the third book in her LouisiAngel series, about a barely-twenty atheist chick who gets murdered but is offered the chance to become a guardian angel and thus receive immortality… But in the midst of her training she discovers a diabolical ploy by the forces of Hell to upset the balance and launch a holy war against Heaven, with New Orleans as the front lines… This particular point in the story arc went a long way in developing the characters and I was all. Here. for. That!
But then there were the newcomers: TYR by N. R. Tupper, which gave me all the “feels” over shows like Firefly and Stargate… Starstruck by S. E. Anderson, which was an absolutely hilarious romp that started with a brother and sister from another planet, on the run from deadly forces, who end up separated and the brother arrives on Earth just in time to get run over by an unsuspecting “average Jane” who just wants to be able to live her life in peace… but now she’s “stuck” saving the world with this humanoid alien who looks human but completely doesn’t understand how life works around here, all the while he’s waiting for his sister to travel far enough through time and space to find him… Then the most recent novel, which I think I’ve already mentioned a couple times this blog hop, Time Tree: The Emergence by Lisa Rae Morris, which was an absolutely GOLDEN adventure from start to finish!
So yeah, I guess we’ll just have to settle for “Top 3 Print/Ebook”, because that is as far as I’m paring it down!

If I had to pick a favourite from the books I’ve read this year, I’d have to say The Clockmaker’s Daughter by Kate Morton. It is an interwoven historical tale over different times and points of view and it is just so cleverly done.
